Inauguration of an India Corner at Main Library of University of Peradeniya

High Commissioner of India to Sri Lanka, H.E Shri Gopal Baglay and Vice Chancellor of University of Peradeniya Prof. M. D. Lamawansa, jointly inaugurated an India Corner at the Main Library of the University on 7th December 2023.

  1. 2.The India Corner offers access to a variety of books, in English, Hindi and Tamil languages, on Indian art, culture ,history, mythology, leaders, food, fiction, children’s books etc. Also India Corner is designed with exhibits to give a visual experience of Indian Classic music, Indian music instruments, festivals, cuisine, tourist destination sites, famous personalities, dance art, festivals etc. to showcase cultural heritage and diversity of India.
  1. 3.The inauguration event was attended by Deputy Vice Chancellor Professor W.M.T. Madhujith, Assistant High Commissioner, Dr. Athira S., Second Secretary of AHCI Kandy, Mr. P. Somaraj, faculties, deans and students.
